I participated in the XM Cloud exam alpha review along with six fellow community members. We met with the Sitecore training team to review the updated questions and engaged in detailed discussions, providing constructive feedback to help improve the exam.

Rule Does Not Work for Webhook with Publish Event

We created a webhook intended to run on the publish event with rules configured to trigger only for specific templates. However, the webhook did not work. After reporting the issue to the support team, we learned that rules cannot be applied to publish events, as noted in the official documentation.

In response, Sitecore has registered a new feature request to enable creating webhooks for item change events that occur as a result of publishing.

Reported Bugs and Requested Features for Sitecore XMC Forms

While working with Sitecore XMC Forms, we identified and reported several issues during the implementation of our use cases. These were reviewed and categorized as bugs or feature requests, as listed below:

1. DESIGNLIB-2998: The Calendar field supports only date selection, but many scenarios (appointments, events) need both date and time.

Trailing Slash Is Added to Homepage URL

A trailing slash is being added to the homepage URL when fetching the page item and its URL using a GraphQL query. This behavior occurs only for the homepage and not for other pages.

The Sitecore support team confirmed that this is the current default behavior and will remain unchanged. Configurable Session Timeout for Pages Builder

In Page Builder, the application requires a page reload if a user is inactive for more than 30 minutes. This is expected behavior and is currently enforced for security reasons. At this time, it is not possible to change this timeout setting.

To address this limitation, the support team has registered a feature request to make the session timeout configurable in future versions. The reference number for this request is PGS-4871.

Unable to copy-paste the ContentHub image URL into the image path in Page Builder

When a content author copies the Content Hub image path from one item's image path field and pastes it into another item's image path field in Page Builder, it doesn't work. It results in an 'image not found' error. This was registered as a bug with reference number PGS-4630

Unable to add rules to Page Branches

A bug was registered because we were unable to add rules to the Page Branches item under the Presentation node of the site. This issue was logged with the reference number SXA-8301.

Ability to add a new version of data items directly from Page Builder

There is currently no option to add a new version of a data item directly from Page Builder, it can only be added through the Explorer tool. We registered a support case and the team agreed that it would be highly beneficial to allow creating new versions of datasource items directly within Pages.

As a result, they created a feature request for this enhancement with the reference number PGS-4571.

Video Added to File Field Does Not Show in Layout Data

The video added in the File field was not being resolved in the layout data. This issue occurs because the Layout Service is incompatible with File field that reference Content Hub DAM resources. The Sitecore team has registered this behavior as a bug with the reference number 629130.

I had the opportunity to present at Sitecore Symposium 2024 alongside Muktesh Mehta. Our session, "Next-Gen Sitecore Development: Leveraging LLMs for Code Generation," focused on using Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate Sitecore code generation. Bug Report - Issue with double-click operation for selecting/unselecting items in Multilist Field

We encountered an issue with the Multilist field where the double-click operation for selecting/unselecting items was not functioning correctly in Chrome and Edge. Content authors had to click an item once and then double-click it for the selection to move to the desired category, instead of the expected behavior of a simple double-click to select or unselect an item.

Last year, we encountered a multisite resolution issue with Experience Edge, which was reported and registered as a bug. Earlier this year, we identified the same issue affecting the Preview GraphQL endpoint used by the CM server. Bug Report - jsonValue property of link/image field in GraphQL query returning raw value

Bug Report - Job with ‘Publish to master’ name created while publishing to Edge using CLI command

We encountered an issue where the publishing to edge operation using the Sitecore CLI "publish" command created two jobs: one named "Publish" and another named "Publish to 'master'". After reporting this to Sitecore Support, they analyzed the problem and registered it as a bug with reference number 606695. This was only a visual issue and did not affect the publishing process in any way.
